Bug #2268 against the X.org Xserver adds support for all South African languages to X. And bug #1526 adds support to the XFree86 X server.

On Linux the X Windows System (X) provides the graphical layer on top of which the various desktops such as KDE and Gnome run. X makes use of the Operating System's locale information (locales being the files that tell it how to display dates and times, etc) but needs to be told how these align. With this patch X can now make use of the locale data already submitted to Glibc.
