Testing
Of course everyone knows that there are no bugs in the software that we release.  Yeah right!  Testing really requires lots of eyes and a concerted effort to try to break things.  If you like living on the bleeding edge or simply will take the time to test things diligently, then we need you.
As a tester you have two options:
  • Live on the bleeding edge - test all our very latest builds
  • Join us before release - take our stable builds and try to find bugs
It all depends on how much pain you are willing to endure.  Testing release candidates, which we put out just before a release, are usually very stable.

What you will be testing for is:
  • Crasher bugs - things that make the application go bang
  • Installation - how things install
  • Completeness - everything that should be in the build (spell checker, hyphenators, etc)
  • Translations - is everything translated that should be translated, is the context correct, spelling, grammar?
Of course the last item requires that you can speak the language, but of course picking up English if you cannot speak the language is quite easy.
