The last two days have seen the release of not just one but two online software translation portals. Yesterday Translate.org.za announced their system Pootle and on the same day Ubuntu Linux announced its Rosetta. Both allow registered users to translate PO files for a range of open source software. Translate's Dwayne Bailey says the Pootle management system is designed to help people translate software into their language with the minimum of fuss while also aiming to help simplify the translation process for software and translation maintainers. Pootle is already being used by the Translate.org.za team to manage existing projects. http://www.tectonic.co.za/view.php?action=view&id=396&topic=Linux
