Translate.org.za has been nominated as a finalist in this years ICT Achievers Awards. The awards are designed to award achievements across Africa.

"Translate.org.za has spearheaded the translation of computer software into all South African official languages.  By focusing on Free and Open Source software the organisation has ensured that all people can have access to the technology and that the people themselves can take ownership of technology and languages.  Added to this is a keyboard and fonts for typing and viewing Tshivenda and spell checkers in various languages and the potential impact of making computer technology accessible, affordable and useful to those who do not speak English becomes apparant."
